June Update
This has been a year of adjustments. I knew that moving from Vancouver Island to Southern Alberta would bring about changes, but I didn’t realize how different the seasons and the flow of time would feel. “Spring” typically started in February on the island, whereas “spring” appears to start in Alberta after the May Long Weekend. It’s June now, but my brain thinks it should be February. Even though it feels weird, I know I’ll eventually get used to it and adjust to this new rhythm.
When I launched Haus of Fog shortly after leaving Vancouver Island, I wasn’t sure what form this website would take or how things would work out. Since launching Haus of Fog five months ago, it has finally found its voice and overarching theme. After publishing 20 interviews and articles, and an ever-growing collection of short films, as well as our recently launched conversations and mini-doc series, I realized that every single piece we have put out has been about the relationship between artists/creatives and technology. I have always considered the art and tech worlds to be separate, but through our conversations about AI, debates on art vs. content, or deliberately using film for photoshoots over digital, Haus of Fog has proved that there is an intrinsic link between these two fields. We’re basically the corpus callosum of the art and tech worlds (that’s the part that connects the two halves of our brains together). Just as I didn’t anticipate needing to adjust to a new flow of the seasons, I didn’t predict that Haus of Fog would stumble upon this specific niche topic. It’s sort of great.
Anyway, thank you for supporting us from the beginning! To help us grow, please share our links, like our videos, and continue to sing our praises in private conversations even when no one asks. <3
